Walter Stein
President & Chief Executive Officer
As President and CEO of Dyaptive since 2002, Walter Stein provides strategic direction to the company and oversees all areas of the business. Prior to taking the helm at Dyaptive, Mr. Stein operated a consulting company helping European technology start-ups develop business plans, marketing strategies and sales channels in North America and Asia. He was a founder and C.E.O. of IDACOM Electronics, a manufacturer of telecom protocol testing equipment. Mr. Stein positioned that company as the leader in the emerging protocol conformance testing market and sold it in 1990 to Hewlett Packard. Mr. Stein has founded and led several successful high tech startups in Canada and Europe; his 25 years of CEO experience in the high tech industry is supplemented by senior leadership roles at Siemens AG and Hewlett Packard. Mr. Stein holds a degree in engineering physics.
Todd Farrell
Director
Vice President, Investments, Information Technology, GrowthWorks Ltd.
Todd Farrell is Vice President, Investments for Information Technology at GrowthWorks, a recognized leader in venture capital and fund management with proven expertise in the raising and managing of capital. Mr. Farrell joined GrowthWorks in 1998 and he currently sits on the boards of Protexis, Colligo Networks, D-Wave Systems, Gineaut Holdings Ltd., Paradata Systems Inc. and Quadrus Financial Technologies. Prior to working in venture capital, Mr. Farrell founded a software company that provided risk information to the UK insurance industry. He has also worked as an economist for the Forestry Commission in Scotland and has 5 years of experience in technology transfer with a research organization in England. Mr. Farrell holds a degree in Finance from the University of British Columbia and MBA from Bath University in England.
Jim Glover
Director
Investment Director, BDC Venture Capital
Jim Glover is an Investment Director at BDC Capital, responsible for telecommunications investments. In addition to his responsibilities on the Dyaptive Board, Jim is also a director at New Step Networks, Navtel Communications and sits on the advisory board for the University of Toronto Masters of Engineering in Telecommunications Program. Prior to joining BDC in 2001, Mr. Glover worked for Nortel Networks bringing new products to market, having held senior positions in product management, engineering, finance and marketing. Most recently at Nortel, he was responsible for disruptive strategies in Nortel's wireless business unit. Mr. Glover holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from McMaster University and is a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
Alan Lolacher
Director
Alan Lolacher has worked in the telecommunications and electronics industry since 1975. Previously, he was President/CEO of Agilent Technologies Canada Inc., where he managed the country responsibilities for Agilent across its five Canadian sites. Prior to that, he was Agilent's Global Business Alliance Manager for Nortel Networks. Mr. Lolacher joined Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 1980 as a Staff Engineer in the Ottawa office, and has held progressively senior positions throughout his career with the company including District Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Division Marketing Manager and Global Business Manager. Between 1990-1995, he worked as a consultant to Ontario based high-tech companies expanding into European and USA markets. Mr. Lolacher graduated from Algonquin College in 1975 with an Honours Diploma in Electronics Technology.
Barb Richardson

Director
Principle and Director, SpringBank TechVentures.
Barb Richardson has been a Principle and Director of SpringBank TechVentures since its inception in 2000. She is a board observer for Quadrus Financial Technologies, sits on the Advisory Board to the Haskayne School of Business and also is a board member to Alberta Wireless Industry Association (Wi-Tec). Ms. Richardson was a pioneer with MetroNet Communications, joining the company of 10 people in 1996 to lead the business development efforts. Her responsibility for developing MetroNet's business strategy led to over $1 billion in financing over an 18-month period. She continued in her role as VP Strategic Planning for MetroNet, actively participating in the culmination and execution of the $7 billion merger with AT&T Corp. in 1999. Following the merger, Ms. Richardson lead the integration of AT&T Canada and MetroNet until she left in March of 2000 to provide strategic advisory and Board services to start-up technology companies.
Ferdi Schell
Director
Vice President, FiberTower
Mr. Schell is the Vice President National Operations and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of FiberTower, bringing more than 25 years of engineering and operations experience in wireless and wireline. Prior to joining FiberTower, Mr. Schell worked with BC Tel Mobility as VP of Engineering and Operations and Telus Communications as VP of Planning and Engineering. He has successfully engineered, built and operated large microwave and fiber backhaul systems in Canada. Mr. Schell holds an MBA and Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia. As well, he holds a Diploma of Technology in Telecommunications from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Laurie Wallace
Director
Limited Partner, Yaletown Venture Capital
Laurie Wallace also serves as a board member to Contec Innovations, and is a board member of Wireless BC. Mr. Wallace is an entrepreneur with extensive wireless industry expertise and relationships. His career spans nearly two decades of systems engineering, sales, and management with industry leaders IBM, Apple, and MPR Teltech (Telus' development lab), to founding Datum Telegraphic, a developer of semiconductors for the wireless data communications market, in 1995. Datum was acquired in 2000 by PMC-Sierra for over C$200 million. Until early 2003, Wallace was PMC Sierra's global Director of Marketing for wireless products. Mr. Wallace earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary.
