DMTS™-8000

CDMA2000 Network Tester

The Dyaptive DMTS-8000 network test system is a unique load generation and performance test solution for CDMA2000 wireless networks.

  • Generate real-world load profiles of mixed voice and data traffic in high-mobility environments
  • Load networks with up to 1000 software-defined test terminals (STT), up to 16 sectors, or up to a total of 60 sector-carriers with support for 11 carriers per sector, to increase test coverage, test base stations and other network equipment to full capacity
  • Locate and diagnose load-related problems with detailed logs, statistic and performance analysis tools
  • Schedule and automate testing to increase test capacity
  • Roll-out CDMA services faster

Key Features & Benefits

  • Loads and tests all network elements, enabling accurate measurement and analysis of the high correlation between RF load and the combined signaling and user data load
  • Highly scalable, configurable and upgradeable system ensures simple capacity expansion
  • Powerful scripting language and automation features ensure an automatic test environment with reproducible tests that verify all aspects of a network, configuration and performance
  • Based on Software-defined Radio Technology

Integrated Test Functionality

The DMTS-8000 integrates functionality from multiple test devices to generate realistic, deterministic and repeatable load. It is comprised of a base system and applications that can be added:

Bulk Call Generator

  • Generate a traffic load using a variety of call models and traffic types, with up to 1000 STT's or the equivalent of 1 million calls per hour
  • Define tests and load on either a group or individual STT basis
  • Create repeatable and deterministic load
Enhanced Applications
Base System

Channel Emulator

  • Control radio channel impairment to simulate extended (rural) cell and other real-world propagation environments

Advanced Test Terminal Controller

  • Define behavior of one or more STTs that allows specific isolated testing that is fully controlled irrespective of what the network is telling the terminal to do
  • Create specific brand or phone model configurations

Data Application Simulator

  • Data Application Simulator
  • Generate data (FTP and HTTP) for mixed voice and data service performance measurement and integrated behavior analysis
  • Correlate behavior across the different layers of all protocols

Performance Analyzer

  • Analyze performance with a powerful visual data mining tool
  • Enable correlations between logs generated from various levels across all protocol stacks
  • Predict mobile user experience

The DMTS also provides additional options for testing various functions like SMS, MEID, BAM, SDB, WPS, GEC, Access Handoff and many more.

Software Defined Radio (SDR)

The DMTS system employs a unique application of SDR technology to effectively put a city in your lab.  Using SDR, the DMTS provides Software-defined Test Terminals (STT) for various voice and data services and user-defined RF conditions.  The DMTS-8000 system produces an equivalent load of up to 1000 STTs that generates 1 million calls per hour (BHCA). It allows users to control and coordinate mobile behavior and RF conditions, as well as define and run tests that are completely repeatable.  Because the system is software based, it is easily upgradeable and reconfigurable, as well as scalable – protecting customers’ investment in their test system.

Configurations

The DMTS-8000 can be deployed in multiple configurations. It can scale from a single blade processing element supporting 100 STTs and 1 sector (1 sector-carrier) up to 20 blade processing elements, each supporting 100 STTs, 16 sectors with 11 carriers per sector and can process calls simultaneously for up to 60 carriers. It provides all capabilities in one 34U 19" cabinet.
